Facebook Flop and Pimple Patches

First Facebook live flopped… while wearing a pimple patch the entire time.

I was SO excited to launch my Summer Series explaining the Science of Reading. I planned and prepped for months. Each Monday, there is a live explanation for the week, followed by support in the Facebook group. This all led to a HUGE FLOP Monday night. I struggled with the technology, I was so anxious, no one showed up, I looked super flustered and stressed (I even had a pimple patch on), it felt like a MESS.

It has taken all week for me to process it, and make preparations for the next one.

Instead of getting down on myself and beating myself up, I’m using it as a learning experience.

When I struggled to get the Facebook live to work, I switched to Google Meet which I am more familiar and comfortable with. This is what I will start with next week. Email mrs.lexi.kelley@gmail.com for an invite! I will also be posting a link in the Mrs. Lexi Kelley Facebook Group on Monday.

In the past, I would have assumed that no one wanted to hear it, that I should stop, that this is a waste of my time. Not this time. This time I am going to keep working, improving, and persevering.

Hopefully the pimple patch pulls all this pus out before tomorrow night. 😂
