Ready for a Really Good Reading Challenge

Have you seen the reading challenge being posted on social media right now? Everyone is asking for book recommendations, so I had to join in. I LOVE reading and struggle to make time for it throughout my day. If I’m holding an actual, physical, book- most likely it will be something light and fun. I read the harder, deeper stuff on my phone.

Learning how to listen to audiobooks with ADHD has been life changing. Try increasing the speed of the audio when listening to an audiobook. Test out a few different paces. Depending on the narration, I tend to switch between 1.25x and 1.75x. I can’t remember the last time I listened to a book at its intended pace. 😅

As I was jotting down all of the book recommendations that were pouring in, I also saw a blog post about popular books that were not a favorite by Janssen from Everyday Reading. My biggest secret is that I
never got into the Harry Potter Books. I read the first three, twice. SO much hype and not enough dialogue for my ADHD ass. I was hoping to see those on there, but they were not. Janssen also posted some inspirational books to read to start off the new year! Some of my faves from that list include The Power of Fun and Atomic Habits.

Before I lose all of the fantastic book recommendations, I’m going to compile a list of them right here. I know every other reader out there uses GoodReads but I cannot for the life of me imagine managing one more thing. 😅
