Steps for Success Group Tutoring This December
Ready for Success? Join Our Steps for Success Group Tutoring This December!
Podcasts have become my go-to for inspiration, motivation, and those much-needed “aha” moments, (like launching Steps for Success Group Tutoring!). Lately, I’ve been loving the Teacher Mindset Podcast, especially their episode on boundaries and your circle of control. (If you haven’t listened yet, you can check it out here.)
This episode hit home for me. As a teacher-turned-tutor, I’ve realized how crucial it is to focus on what you can control, seek the right support, and build healthy boundaries. It’s a constant work in progress, but it’s so worth it!
Another key takeaway? Collaboration is everything. Whether you’re working with colleagues, other parents, or your child’s tutors, having a supportive community makes all the difference. That’s why I love connecting with like-minded families and educators through Facebook groups. If you haven’t found a space where you feel welcomed, come join mine: Barefoot and Burntout: Teachers to Tutors.
Speaking of Collaboration…
I’m thrilled to announce the launch of my Steps for Success Group Tutoring, starting the first Friday in December!
Here’s why I’m so excited:
- It’s affordable! Just $45 for the entire month of December. That’s only $11.25 per session for expert-led Orton-Gillingham-based tutoring.
- It’s effective. These small group sessions are perfect for kids who need focused reading and spelling instruction in a supportive environment.
Two Groups to Meet Your Child’s Needs
1️⃣ Steps 1 & 2: Foundational reading skills. This group is ideal for kids still mastering short vowel sounds, basic phonics, and VCE (silent e) words like cake and Steve.
2️⃣ Steps 3, 4, & 5: Advanced phonics and spelling skills. This group will help kids build on their existing reading foundation, tackling more complex phonemes like ar, igh, tion, and more.
Both groups will meet every Friday for 30 minutes, making it easy to fit into your busy schedule. Miss a session? No problem—I’ll send you the recording so your child doesn’t miss a beat!

Let’s Keep the Main Thing the Main Thing
As Jason Reynolds reminds us, it’s all about doing what you can, connecting with others, and focusing on what you can control. If your child could benefit from extra reading and spelling support, this is the perfect opportunity to connect with an experienced tutor in an affordable and collaborative way.
Let’s make December a month of progress, learning, and success—together!
I’ve been blown away by all the love and support from this amazing community—seriously, you all are the best! Several of you have reached out, asking about how you can help as we prepare for Baby Girl’s arrival (we’re so excited!!).
While your encouragement means the world to me, for those who’ve asked, here’s the link to our baby registry.
Please don’t feel any pressure at all! We’re just so grateful to be surrounded by such thoughtful and kind people as we get ready for this new chapter in our lives. 💕
